Our Mission & History

Lexel International School is an initiative by Taylor’s Education Group, created to reimagine what international education can look like in emerging communities. It brings together global curriculum standards, technology-enabled learning, and deep community integration within a sustainable, long-term school model.

Taylor's University campus

With over 50 years of experience, Taylor’s Education Grouphas grown to become one of Malaysia’s most trusted private education providers. A family-owned organisation for more than two decades, Taylor’s legacy began with the founding of Taylor’s College in 1969 and has expanded to include Taylor’s University, now ranked among the top private universities in Southeast Asia. Today, the Group serves over 33,000 students and has nurtured a community of more than 100,000 alumni whose lives reflect its dedication to educational excellence.

Beyond higher education, the Group also operates a growing portfolio of six international schools across Malaysia and Singapore, known for academic rigour, student wellbeing and state-of-the-art campuses, and the highly regarded British University Vietnam, which has further strengthened ties to UK curricula and university pathways.

Lexel International Schools are built within integrated townships, starting with our flagship campuses at Gamuda Gardens and Gamuda Cove. Through long-term partnerships with leading developers, Lexel is able to co-locate with green spaces, community facilities, and vibrant neighbourhoods. This allows us to lower operational costs and pass those savings on to families, without compromising educational excellence.

As part of this broader network, Lexel International Schools is not a short-term initiative. It is backed by long-term planning and a sustainable education model that gives families the confidence that their children can grow with us from early years through to secondary school.

Our Purpose

Integrated into Growing Townships

Lexel campuses are built within master-planned townships such as Gamuda Gardens, where students benefit from nearby green spaces, sports facilities and community infrastructure. By co-locating with developers, the school can reduce overhead costs and pass those savings on to families, without compromising the learning experience.

Supported by the Taylor’s University School of Education

All Lexel teachers receive ongoing training and mentorship through the School of Education at Taylor’s University. This partnership ensures that our teaching is grounded in proven international practices, supported by current research, and tailored to meet both global standards and local contexts.

Smart Use of Technology and AI Tools

As education evolves, Lexel makes use of AI-supported tools to personalise learning, support teachers and enhance communication between school and home. These technologies are used thoughtfully and with purpose — always as a complement to, not a replacement for, the teacher’s role in the classroom.

About us

Our Core Values

Students studying together
Students collaborating with technology
Students high-fiving in classroom

Knowledge (Learn)

We provide a strong academic foundation by delivering the Cambridge curriculum in a way that goes beyond rote learning. Students develop subject mastery alongside critical thinking, inquiry, and problem-solving skills. Lessons are designed to spark curiosity and promote real understanding.

Empowerment (Excel)

Every learner is recognised as an individual. Through inquiry-based and project-based learning, as well as thoughtfully integrated technology, students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning. AI-supported platforms allow us to tailor the pace and depth of instruction to each student’s strengths, needs, and goals.

Excellence (Lead)

We foster a culture where students are encouraged to aim high, not through pressure, but through meaningful challenges, reflective practice, and clear personal goals. Excellence at Lexel is defined by progress, integrity, and effort, not just results. Our teachers are committed to supporting each learner’s journey with professional care and high standards.
