Cambridge International Curriculum from Early Years to IGCSE
The Cambridge Pathway
One of the most widely adopted education programmes in the world, recognised by universities across the UK, US, Australia, and Singapore.
Age 3-5
Years 1-6
Years 7-9
Years 10-11
At Lexel International Schools, we follow the Cambridge International Curriculum, one of the most widely adopted education programmes in the world. This globally recognised programme is known for its academic rigour, balanced subject coverage, and ability to foster deep conceptual understanding.
We offer the full Cambridge pathway beginning from Early Years (Nursery and Reception), continuing through Primary (Years 1 to 6), and into Secondary (Years 7 to 11), where students will sit for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) in Year 11.
While English is the primary medium of instruction, students are offered structured exposure to Mandarin Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia as part of the curriculum, enabling them to develop multilingual competencies that are increasingly vital in a globalised world.

Built on the Cambridge Early Years Curriculum, a play-based, inquiry-led approach that develops young learners holistically across physical, emotional, social, and cognitive domains.
A broad and balanced subject offering aligned with the Cambridge Primary and Cambridge Lower Secondary frameworks, progressing to IGCSE in Upper Secondary.
Core: English, Mathematics, Science
Additional: Art & Design, Music, PE, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, ICT
Class size: 18-23 students, max 25
At the IGCSE level (Years 10-11), students choose from a range of subjects with support to build individual learning pathways based on their interests and aspirations.

Lexel Literacies
Aligned with the Cambridge International framework, these are the cross-curricular literacies our students develop — the transferable skills that show up in every subject and every year.

02
Cambridge teaching puts evaluation, reasoning, and questioning at the centre. Students learn to weigh evidence, not just collect it.
03
Group inquiry, peer feedback, and team projects are part of the weekly timetable across phases.
04
Studio art, music, and design challenges are part of the curriculum, not extras. Creative production is a regular practice.
05
From Year 3, students bring their own laptop and use it purposefully. Tech amplifies the teacher, never replaces them.
Primary and Secondary students bring their own laptop to school for daily use, supporting purposeful technology integration into every lesson.
Research and writing activities
Digital assignments and collaborative projects
Access to learning platforms and personalised feedback
Enhancing classroom engagement without replacing teacher interaction
All student devices are configured with content filtering software, blocking inappropriate material and restricting access to approved educational platforms.
During onboarding, our staff help families and students set up their devices. Every learner is fully equipped and ready.
Parents receive:
Lessons are designed to spark curiosity, encourage collaboration, and apply knowledge to real-world contexts.
Digital platforms such as PowerSchool support teachers and students in tracking growth, identifying learning needs, and tailoring strategies accordingly.
Students may sit for Checkpoint assessments at the end of Year 6 and Year 9, providing an external benchmark of progress within the Cambridge pathway.
Students develop reasoning, analysis, and metacognitive skills across all subjects.
Families receive regular, clear feedback, not just on grades, but on learning behaviours, progress, and areas for development.
